I visited the 14th century church of St. Mary in the village of Ashwell in Hertfordshire looking for two bits of historically important medieval graffiti.
One mentions how the Black Death affected the village between 1350 and 1361 and the other is a drawing showing Old St. Paul’s Cathedral with a spire.
